Can you use FAS Fire Door Foam™ on one side of a door frame and FAS Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant on the other?

No, FAS Fire Door Foam™ must be applied to both sides of the door frame and must completely fill the void between the frame and the surrounding wall in accordance with the tested installation method. Using Fire Door Foam™ on one side only and acrylic sealant on the other is not an approved installation configuration.

For gaps up to 5mm, FAS Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant can be used on its own without the need for a backing material. Always follow the relevant installation guidance, certification and fire test evidence to ensure the correct fire stopping solution is used for the specific gap size and fire door application.
