Construction Product Information & Compliance (CCPI)

Who is the CCPI for?

The Code applies to manufacturers, merchants and distributors involved in creating, managing and publishing construction product information.

How long does the CCPI Assessed Mark last on product information?

Once awarded, the CCPI Assessed Mark is licensed to the product set for up to two years, subject to ongoing compliance.

What types of information are assessed under the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI)?

CCPI assesses construction product information and supporting evidence to verify that product claims are accurate, clear and trustworthy. Information reviewed may include performance claims, certification documents, declarations of performance (DoP), technical product information, warranties, competency evidence and supporting documentation. The aim is to improve the quality, consistency and reliability of construction product information available to specifiers, contractors, building owners and other stakeholders.

Why should I choose CCPI Assessed products?

CCPI Assessed products give greater confidence that our claims on the product information are evidence-based, accurate and responsibly communicated – reducing risk and supporting compliant construction.

What does CCPI stand for?

CCPI stands for the Code for Construction Product Information, a UK industry standard that promotes accurate, clear, accessible, up-to-date and trustworthy construction product information. Developed to improve transparency and confidence across the construction sector, CCPI helps ensure that product information and performance claims are supported by appropriate evidence and communicated in a way that enables informed decision-making by specifiers, contractors, building owners and other stakeholders

Why was the CCPI created?

The CCPI was established following Dame Judith Hackitt’s review after the Grenfell Tower tragedy to improve transparency, accountability and safety across the construction industry.

Is CCPI mandatory?

The CCPI is currently a voluntary code, but it is strongly supported by industry and regulators and is increasingly expected by clients, specifiers and contractors.
