Fire & Acoustic Seals is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever online training course. The course is designed to equip installers with the expertise to correctly apply its popular FAS Fire Door Foam™ and FAS Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant.

This structured training program provides essential insights into best practices and regulatory requirements, and it was developed to support construction professionals in achieving fire door compliance.

Key Benefits of the FAS Fire Door Sealant Installation Course:

  • Comprehensive understanding of FAS Fire Door Sealants, including the UK’s only orange fire-rated foam.
  • Expert guidance on the correct installation of fire-rated door sets from 30 to 120 minutes.
  • Invaluable knowledge of fire test evidence and compliance considerations.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a GQA certificate and CPD points, demonstrating their competency and commitment to industry excellence.

This initiative follows the recent reformulation of the popular FAS Fire Door Foam™, which transitioned from pink to a distinctive orange last year. This strategic change sets it apart from standard fire foams untested within fire-rated door sets, reinforcing FAS’s dedication to innovation and quality assurance.

Julian Vollans, Managing Director of Fire & Acoustic Seals, comments:

“I’m thrilled to introduce this industry-leading online training for our FAS Fire Door range of sealants developed in partnership with Fire Door Maintenance (FDM).

Over the past few years, we have invested heavily in developing and rigorously testing this niche product range to meet the exacting standards of British and European fire door regulations. From extensive fire testing to distinctive packaging rebranding and our pioneering foam colour change, every step has been taken to enhance safety and reliability.

With fire resistance ratings of up to 120 minutes when installed correctly, our sealants provide superior protection. This course ensures installers have the necessary knowledge to apply them with confidence and competence.”

Nicola John, Managing Director of FDM, says

“At FDM, we are proud to be a training centre for industry, by industry. We have been working with Fire and Acoustic Seals to provide an accredited CPD short training course, which will be available on the FDM portal for users to increase their knowledge of their Fire Door Sealant products”.

Both FAS Fire Door Foam™ and FAS Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant have undergone rigorous fire testing under BS 476: Pt 20 & 22: 1987 and BS EN 1634-1: 2014 and are third-party certified under the Warringtonfire Certifire scheme.
