FAS Fire Door Foam™ – Orange Fire-Rated PU Expanding Foam for Fire Door Installations
Fire Door Foam™ is a PU expanding foam specifically designed and tested to seal gaps between walls and fire door frames, providing up to 60 minutes of fire protection. As the UK's only orange fire-rated fire door foam, it replaces the need for mineral fibre wool, mastic, and specialist intumescent packers. Thoroughly tested on fire door assemblies to meet relevant fire, smoke and acoustic standards, Fire Door Foam™ is suitable for use with timber fire door frames and screens. A 750ml can typically cover 3–4 door sets and includes protective gloves for safe handling.

Storage & Disposal
- Cans can be stored for at least 12 months from the production date when stored unopened under cool, dry conditions between 5°C and 30°C. They should not be left in an overheated environment or in direct sunlight. Do not expose the product to temperatures exceeding 50°C.
- Empty cans should be disposed of appropriately in line with local regulations. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for more information.
Maintenance
- Recorded inspection should be conducted in line with the maintenance and inspection schedule that is defined for the building or project. These should be conducted and recorded by competent individuals.
- Where the product is damaged or tampered with, a new product should be installed with the installation guidance.

What fire rating does Fire Door Foam™ offer?
Fire Door Foam™ has been fire tested to 60 minutes (BS476 Pt20/22: 1987 & BS EN1634-1) in timber
and composite doorsets and timber glazed screens. It has also been tested to achieve up to 120 minutes when installed with FAS Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant or FAS Fire Door Silicone. Please refer to the installation guidance found on the Foam product page.
Why use Fire Door Foam™ instead of stone mineral fibre wool as backing for FAS Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant?

Can you use Fire Door Foam™ on one side and Acrylic Sealant on the other?
No, Fire Door Foam™ must be applied to both sides and completely fill the void. For gaps up to 5mm, Fire Door Intumescent Acrylic Sealant can be used without backing.
Do I need to cap off Fire Door Foam™ with intumescent mastic?
No, there is no need to cap with mastic for fire ratings of up to 60 minutes. Our Fire Door Foam™ is also tested for smoke.
Do the packers have to be covered with Fire Door Foam™?
No, providing that the packers are installed or cut back to be flush with the frame edge, they do not have to be concealed with Foam.
Do you have to install Fire Door Foam™ with specialist packers or fixings?
No, Fire Door Foam™ has been specifically tested with plastic packers and standard screw fixings.
Timber and MDF packers may also be used where required.
Does Fire Door Foam™ have a shelf life?
Fire Door Foam™ has a 12-month shelf life whilst stored in temperate conditions (5°C > 30°C).
