Quelfire QWR40/CE CE Marked Fire Collar 40mm – Up to 4 Hour Fire Rating
The Quelfire QWR CE Marked Fire Collar (40mm) is designed to prevent the spread of fire where plastic pipes penetrate fire compartment walls and floors. It consists of a continuous pressed stainless steel flexible shell containing a high-performance graphite-based intumescent material.
In a fire, the intumescent material reacts to heat and expands, exerting pressure on the softening pipe to form a carbonaceous insulation plug that prevents fire from passing through to adjoining compartments.
This fire collar is specifically manufactured to suit 40mm diameter plastic pipes and can be retrofitted around existing pipework. It is suitable for use with plastic pipes including PVC, PVC-U, PE, HDPE, MDPE and PP.
Tested across a range of constructions, including concrete floors, masonry walls, flexible walls and plasterboard ceiling/timber floor systems, the QWR40/CE Fire Collar provides reliable passive fire protection.
